2026 Women-Owned Business Gift Guide
It's the Most Wonderful Season, Neighbors!
Hey, neighbors! As promised, here is a list of things we're loving for the 2026 gifting season.
Every business on this list is owned by a woman. Some are right here in Pittsburgh, a few are a short road trip away, and some ship from across the country. Plenty of them are places one of us has shopped ourselves (look for the ♥). The rest come highly recommended by friends, listeners, and the neighborhood grapevine.
So skip the big-box scramble this season. Your mail carrier will thank you. Well...maybe not, but the women behind these businesses definitely will.

For the Home & the Hostess
The Farmer's Daughter Flowers ♥
Flower shop · North Side, Pittsburgh
Lauren Work Phillips started The Farmer's Daughter as an event-only florist and grew it into a full retail shop on East Ohio Street. Many of the blooms come from local farms, including the family's own flower farm, which specializes in dahlias. For the person who has everything, a floral subscription keeps the gift showing up all year long.
Notary Ceramics
Handmade ceramics · Portland, OR
Sarah Van Raden was a photo stylist before she went back to the pottery wheel, and Notary started as a one-woman studio in her basement. Today it's a small, women-run business making minimal, heirloom-quality pottery in calm, neutral glazes. A Notary mug or bowl is the kind of gift that gets used every single day.
DOKO Creations ♥
Handmade wood products · Etsy
Handcrafted wood pieces bring a little warmth to any kitchen counter or coffee table. Small-shop wood goods also make great hostess gifts, and they last a lot longer than a bottle of wine. (We know. We said longer, not better.)
Drip Candle Goods
Candles
A good candle is the universal "I thought of you" gift, and Drip Candle Goods makes candles and home goods worth lighting. Tuck one into a gift basket or keep a few on hand for those last-minute holiday swaps.
Pink Missie's This and That ♥
Antiques & resale · Brookville, PA
This Main Street shop in Brookville is a treasure hunt, with lace doilies, floral plates, embroidered tablecloths, and vintage-inspired wall art. It's perfect for the friend who loves a one-of-a-kind find. It's also a great excuse for a day trip from Pittsburgh, because Brookville's Victorian main street is worth the drive on its own.
For the Bookworm
The Tiny Bookstore
Independent bookstore · Ross Township (North Hills), Pittsburgh
It's Pittsburgh's smallest independent bookstore, at roughly 300 square feet of books, gifts, and toys. Owner Lea Bickerton, a criminal defense attorney by day, opened the shop with her husband Bill and curates the shelves herself. The store champions indie authors, diverse voices, and frequently challenged books. Shop online for curbside pickup if you can't make it in.
Passionate Pages
Romance bookstore · Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh's first romance-only bookstore opened on Butler Street in early 2026 under owner Joedda McClain. You'll find everything from contemporary and LGBTQIA+ romance to YA and romantasy. Spicier reads sit behind a red velvet curtain. For the friend who just finished Fourth Wing and needs her next fix, this is the spot.

The Bag Icon ♥
Handbags & jewelry
Attorney-turned-designer Seneca Berniard Connor launched The Bag Icon in 2022. She was tired of paying designer markups, so she made high-quality, timeless leather bags at a price that doesn't wreck the budget. The brand recently expanded into demi-fine jewelry, too. It's a splurge-worthy look without the splurge.
Badeesie Designs
Small handbags & custom fabrics
Small handbags and custom fabric pieces make sweet, personal gifts, the kind you can't find in a department store. They're great for stocking stuffers or a "just because" treat for a friend.
Leo and Lynn Jewelry
Handmade jewelry
Handmade jewelry is one of those gifts that carries meaning long after the wrapping paper's gone. Leo and Lynn's pieces are a lovely pick for a sister, a best friend, or yourself. (We won't tell.)
The Southern Post Shop ♥
Custom embroidered gear · Etsy
Owner Megan Post started embroidering as a hobby at 19 and turned it into a full-time business with tens of thousands of Etsy sales. She makes custom embroidered sweaters and gear that feel personal without being cheesy.
